Judi Garfi Partridge Established Herself As A Trailblazer In The Business World
Judi Garfi Partridge established herself as a trailblazer in the business world by creating innovative solutions to address unmet customer needs. She is best known for founding and growing Eastwood Insurance, one of the nation’s most successful auto insurance brokerages serving the non-standard niche, from a single office with 4 employees to a nationwide footprint with 32 offices and 500 employees. Ms. Garfi Partridge eventually sold Eastwood to Nationwide Insurance, the country’s third-largest insurance company.
After the sale of Eastwood, Ms. Garfi Partridge became an avid horse racer and breeder as the owner of Serenity Oak Farms. As she looked for an agent who could help her protect her horses and her ranch, Ms. Garfi Partridge realized that there was a significant knowledge gap in the market. Horse owners wanted to protect their financial and emotional investments, but didn’t know how – less than half of horse owners insure their investment. At the same time, many insurance agents were unable to adequately meet the needs of horse owners due to their lack of industry specific knowledge. To address this issue, Ms. Garfi Partridge founded Summit General Insurance, an agency dedicated to providing horse owners with confidence and peace of mind.
Summit General offers a comprehensive range of specialized products to the equine industry, and provides high-touch, concierge-level service to ensure that clients are matched with the appropriate products coverages. “It’s a very personal industry,” says Garfi Partridge. “People who own horses have a very personal interest in them, so they care a lot about getting the insurance right.” Summit General has emerged as the top-ranked equine insurance agency in the United States.
Ms. Garfi Partridge is also actively involved in a multitude of philanthropic pursuits. She is a Governor of Chapman University; a Board of Directors member at KOCE, the PBS station in Orange County, California and at the Special Olympics; and a major sponsor of the non-profit organization Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Garfi Partridge is perhaps most active in her role as founder of the non-profit organization My Brother Joey, which was named for her brother who was born with Downs Syndrome. The organization finances research on children’s diseases and funds numerous organizations for people with disabilities.
